Default Bad clear

I have a natural steel finish column in my 64 and I was noticing a little place of surface rust forming so I cleaned it up an clear coated it. I did that because I didn’t want the column painted with the dash I wanted it natural. The clear has dried and it looks like light primer. What should I do? Primer is rustoleum

Did you paint it while it was raining or very high humidity? That will cause clear to turn cloudy.
