It seems they dont come with C'clips anymore but they are the same body / build as Rhoads Lifters minus the C'clip so they should be good that withstanding
Is the clip size 3/4 ? |

I think yes, that’s what I recall using , but the other part of the mod is to cut that grooves upper lip into a shoulder / 90 degree so that the C clip really seats on something.
I had disassembled all of my 3 sets of lifters that I had at one time and cut this needed shoulder in a buddy’s lathe. I made this lip .025” . I also rapped some soda can Aluminum around the body of the lifter so that the jaws of his lathe did not chew up the body of the lifter. If you don’t do this extra step of cutting the upper lip in the C clip is still better then running the meager round wire clip any day!

The same lifters I got that are in the 78's 455 had a one way push in completely circular clip. Similar to the 0 lash Comp HFT lifters have.

I have found the Speed Pro HT951R and HT951 are the SAME lifter, only difference is the 5/8" internal retaining ring.
Some expensive retainers....... |
