Other smaller tacks like Ware Shoals, Shadyside and Union seem to be doing ok.

Unfortunate for sure. I am hearing “rumors” the track in Baytown(Houston)Texas, isn’t far behind in closing.

Apparently all the city council members that approved the apartment complex across the street from the strip got a payoff and the county found out and they are no longer there.

I am hearing the soil samples won't pass either due to all the pollutants in the ground. Hopefully who ever bought it can't do anything with it.

Here's a thoguht: Need more places like Pontiac Heaven, but with the win money, side bets, brackets, and..."Buy-back in" if that is a thing.

How to attract MFGr sponsor monies.
How to attract Pay per view monies.
and the racers and Spectators monies.

Well, the Trophy Truck folks sure know how, and did it. Can This group do such?

There was some real positive direction on that last year then covid hit.

Go to the town meetings and tell them when electric cars come in the noise won’t be an issue it’s a temporary problem that doesn’t need a permanent solution.!
Send letters to the surrounding neighborhoods saying the same, it may deter some people from going to the meetings
Heck send letters saying aren’t you embarrassed by what your doing???

I’m
A builder and realtor and it makes me sick that people buy next to these things then complain. Don’t buy there, if you don’t like what’s there . There’s a trend of people believing it is ok to force their will on others in this country and it needs to stop.

Unfortunately that’s not how things work here anymore . I’d tell anyone affected by this type of thing get on your town zoning boards and town council etc.
It’s the ONLY way to really protect your interests in your town.

Sad to see a drag strip go it gives so many people a place to compete and stay out of trouble on the streets.

Last time I spoke w them about that new drag strip (couple months ago)
It didn’t sound like it was still a go! Best place in CT IMO would be Waterford, already has a track and has an airport some selfish morons got closed by getting on and weaponizing the town zoning board and changing the owners zoning / taxes. Airport is still there doing NOTHING. Could be a great race track.

They did the same to Madison airport made it a soccer field . What a shame, Connecticut was literally built on guns , insurance companies and aviation and they’ve destroyed or run out all of these industries.

I was happy I was able to be a part of the “Final Southern Nationals”.

It was a great trip with my wife and dad. It was really great to meet Mike Davis and see Kevin MacNicol kick some tail!

Pretty memorable for sure. I hate to see that place go. I really liked that track.

And there is the official news. It’s sad to see these good tracks going away

Yet another new rumor.

This one is the newest rumor.
I hear this year or next year will be the last year Brainerd International Raceway. I hear that property is going to be turned into a resort.

IMO I say GOOD! I have been there 6 times from 2005-2019 and every single time, the Track staff from the Owners to track staff front gate staging lanes guy concession stand people to security goes way out of their way to make damn sure you know you are absolutely NOT welcome at that racetrack. When I tell people that they laugh and say that is funny because it’s soooo true. They are straight up Dicks at that track! With the time slip lady being the only exception she is as sweet as can be.

It’s shocking because every single racer I know in Minnesota is some of the nicest people I have ever met.

Just a FYI, somewhat against the trend. There's a NEW 1/8th mile track being built in North Florida about 20 miles outside of Jacksonville in Callahan. The track was approved for a location that now has go cart dirt track racing, this 1/8 mile track will be an additional feature. It was however approved with the stipulation that the cars must run mufflers, and meet some kind of noise standards. It will work for street shoot outs. I'll take it! Beats not building it at all.
