Procomp electronics and speedmaster have many of the same part numbers and same company address.

Why wouldn’t a copy of something known to work, not work? Depends on how well it was copied. I’d say SM did a decent job copying. But let’s not give them more credit than they have due.

OK, maybe I am wrong about the association between Pro Comp and Speedmaster

Edelbrock copied Pontiac RA IV head, Speedmaster copied Edelbrock so what's the difference? Who did KRE copy?

Eagle billet rods come from China and machined in USA
Scat cranks are forged in China and machined in USA
Etc...

Edelbrock actually changed a lot. Valve location, port size, port shape, outer casting appearance, to list a few. SM pretty much just copied Edelbrock.

KRE used to use the Wenzler Super Chief head in the old days and kind of copied it with their High Port head.
Pretty much killed the SC head.
A friend of mine has a set of SC heads on a awesome tube frame 69 Judge with IA2 block. He says the SC heads are kind of soft; He does not push the car too hard, does really well bracket racing.
Toned it down a bit, its never on kill.
