Yeah.... I understand...

My issue is the price of course, way beyond where I want to be. It will start in the UPPER 30's.....

Looks like the G8 GT's are finally down to the low 20"s for a low mileage one, so that is where I will be going.....

But I think GM as a whole is doing a great job....

As always Pontiac kicks chevys ass in design, even a 4 year old G8 looks better than a new chevy with the same basic tin and chassis.

Funny thing is the chevy fans won't care where it is made, unlike the Pontiac people that just ripped the GTO and G8 up and down because they were made at a GM Holden plant.

Really doesn't make a difference to me, my car is still a GM counterpart and it makes no difference if it was made in Australia, it's a damn good car. The SS, crapmaro, and the G8 are made on the same chassis design that's a GM global design. It's not 1964 anymore, some people need to get rid of their almost 50 year old ideas of what constitutes a GM car today. Remember the "REAL GTOs" that were made in another foreign country, CANADA...........................

At least my daily driver says Pontiac on it as well as on the title, not Toyota or Honda like so many of the finger pointers drive to work.

I really dont get the GM HUGE unpainted black plastic areas on the new cars,do they really think that makes up for style? We all know how awesome that area will look when we get wax on it or is sun faded.

That's Chevy for ya... GM kicks Pontiac out of the coral, and then Chevy gets to steal Pontiacs thunder.

Too me it looks worse than a rental car.

Its not a re-badged Pontiac G8. Its a Holden slightly modified for N. America. As was the G8

Meh.... it does nothing for me. But I've NEVER been a 4 door sedan kind of guy.

To me as much as I've been a car guy all my life I also use my vehicles they way they were intended and also how they fit into my lifestyle. Meaning this:

I have my 68 Firebird as a weekend cruiser. I take it to some local car shows/ cruise nights with my car buddies. I take it out on sunny Saturday or Sunday afternoons for cruises and occaisonally take the family out in it to get ice cream on a nice summer night. It's a weekend toy. I don't drive it to work, I don't take it anywhere I can't see it suck as the movies, or out to a restaraunt where it's parked unseen in a crowded parking lot for some soccer mom to ding it with her mini-van's door.

Then there's my daily driver my 02 4 Runner. It's a Toyota and granted there are guys on here who will bash me for owning a Toyota but I know that with regular maintenance it will last 300K miles easily. I only live 8-10 miles from work so it keeps the mileage low. I currently have just over 85K miles on it and like I said, 3.4 liter 4 Runners can hit 300K easily so it will be with me a LONG time. For me with my lifestyle, I NEED a 4WD SUV. I own a small vacation home in the Pocono Mts of PA. We go up there in the winter for skiing and I need the 4WD. I'm up there a lot in the summer too, I also have a small 14' aluminum bass fishing boat that I drop in any one of the 3-4 lakes near my vacation home. I NEED a 4WD SUV type vehicle to drop my boat into these lakes. 2 of those lakes are down dirt roads where 4WD is pretty mandatory. Plus several of these lakes are shallow enough that I have to back pretty far into the lake to get the boat to float off the trailer and again 4WD is mandatory. You're not dropping a fishing boat into a lake with that car, trust me.

So a 4 door RWD sedan just doesn't work for my kind of lifestyle. But on top of that it's just not my thing.

The car and the discussion are essentially a replay of the 2004 GTO debut. Wash rinse repeat here. Sure, the looks are bland, it will never be a real Pontiac, but almost everyone who owns one says they are a blast to drive and grow to luv the vehicle.

Not sure in 2013 if it really matters what badging is on the car, as all stem from the same DNA.
