I am using the Lunh performance bracket. It is a real nice piece. I was having trouble with the belt coming off. If you pm me your number I can get you pictures.

It's a runner with the blower motor in it now, WOW what a blast.
I'll see if I can get some vidioof it on here too.
Still would like to see that lunh bracket though. Maybe I'll get your

I'd like to see what you came up with. I mounted a Powermaster 50 amp one wire alternator (alt.) last night. I used a Powermaster bracket designed for a chebby. I had to drill one hole in it to use the threaded holes in the front of the Pontiac head. I used round stock spacers from my old conventional sized alt. bracket & the spacers that came with the chebby bracket. I don't have a front plate installed yet, but my aluminum version of the All Pontiac front plate will fit under the alt. without interference. I used an under drive crank pulley from a PY member and the Powermaster pulley that came with the alt. from another PY member.

I had to use a chit load of washers to shim it into alignment.

This setup is very rigid. My straight edge says it will work. I'm going to Napa for a belt today. Hopefully if doesn't throw the belt when I make a pass next weekend.

I'm going to run a #6 wire and a 60 amp circuit breaker near the battery. I've been running two batteries in the trunk with no alt. With this alt. charging the system I'm going to remove one battery, and lose another 25 lbs. wrapping up my winter weight reduction plan.

I flipped the bracket around, placing the alternator (alt) closer to the crankshaft. This allows a shorter belt to be utilized minimizing the chance of throwing the belt (I hope). Before starting the engine my meter reads 12.36 volts at the battery. With the engine running (fuel pump, MSD & LED tail light drawing amps) I'm getting 13.2 at the alt output and 12.9-13.0 at the battery. When I energize the cooling fan in addition to the fuel pump, MSD & tail light the reading at the battery drops to 12.5-12.6. I removed my second battery. Now all I need to do is make some passes and see if the belt stays on.

Today's race has been cancelled, I get to wait another week or two to find out how this works out.

I made 11 passes this weekend with my new alternator installation. I never had to charge the battery between rounds. The belt is still tight enough to stay in place. I was running one vice two batteries, and never had any starting problems all weekend. It was extremely hot, hottest conditions I'll probably see all year in NC.
