Default Engine and head ID verification

I bought my LeMans last summer. I was told Cliff rebuilt the Quadrajet by the previous owner. After having carb issues this past weekend I pulled it off and tore down and sent pics to Cliff , who said he definitely did NOT build that carb. Anyway, not trusting anything the seller told me now, I wanted to verify WHAT engine is in the LeMans to buy the correct parts from Cliff.
I was told the engine was a ‘73 400. I think it’s a’69 400 with 46 heads based on what I see.
Can any of you numbers gurus confirm this?

This is per Wallace Racing's database.

1969 400 290 HP YD A 10.5 254 46 1-2 7029060/70 45 degree intake Block Casting # 9790071

Per the same database, the YD code in 73 is a 455. I would say you're correct that you have a 69 400 that appears to at least have the heads it was born with, or at least had the possibility of being born with.

What’s the two digit year date cast into the flat area under the dizzy on the drivers side?

Also a 73 block would have 5 motor mount pads on each side, which is not the case for a 69 block.

The 979 start to the part numbers where only use from 68 thru 1970.

The block code is 9790071 which is a 1969 400 YD engine. (with 46 heads)

I'd like the date code from the rear by the distributor and the numbers above the YD .

The displacement will probably be cast large, right under the driver side head near the front. it will probably say "350" "400" or "455". You'll have to climb under the driver side.
Block date will be large, near the distributer hole.
Head codes are large, cast on the center exhaust ports.
Head date is right near the valve cover lip.

Funny how the easier numbers to get at were the hardest to get good pics of. How many numbers are supposed to be above the stamp? I can only make out 2(?) 18805.
I THINK the date cast is “168” ?
The ones on the back of the block are a beast to get. I can’t see them. I just stick my phone in there and shine my flashlight till I get something readable.

Thanks.
Should be 7 digits. Probably 1st is a zero, so 0?18805.
The date code is probably an 'I' 68 - I68 = Sep 6 1968
That's an early date for 1969 model year. So 7 digit # is possibly 0018805.
(have to check my database though)

This should have a partial VIN on the block, down by where the radiator hose outlet on timing cover is on passenger side of block. Mostly vertical, hard to read with any crud there.
Look something like 29P1xxxxx with the x's being digits, the P could be some other letter.
