This rang a bell for me. Once, years ago, the forum kept logging me out and dropping my chosen version of the system and reverting to what I guess is the default version.. Had to log in every visit and then re-choose the version I wanted.. I did practically the same thing as the above quoted post by Gary. I just searched Google for the forum as if I were a first time user. Logged in that way it never happened again.
Worth a shot.

I don't think they have a real tech managing the web sight.
But I could be wrong.
It's a constant battle in today's networking drama.

Will see if I stay logged in today.

I use an older iPad. The only device I ever use. I have not changed any settings or updated recently.

OK, just clicked on forums less than 2 hours since logging in. I was logged out…….
PITA!

Still can’t access the CH . . . .

I've never used anything but our desktop computer (don't even have any "mobile device"). Never had this issue throughout my first ten thousand posts!

Just wanted to bump this up, still getting long delays posting short comments on threads, takes 10-15 seconds to post then gets the "need to wait 20 seconds between posts" message.

Have been seeing lots of double posts from many different members on lots of threads. I dont think its an issue with any members or their devices, its a problem with the forum, I am using the same home computer and browser etc as I always have with no changes, no other website or forum does this so it is definitely a PY issue.

Post went up fast for me,

Edit, it took like 3 sec. Check your internet in Idaho there.

Some post quick, most dont. & many others are having double posts so there is definitely an issue with the forum.

As stated, no other websites or forums do this so the internet connection is NOT an issue here in IOWA.

Edit, it took like 12 seconds for this one to post & got the same message... "This forum requires that you wait 20 seconds between posts. Please try again in 5 seconds." On another forum and other websites at the same time that work as they should. I dont know whats causing it, just posting my experience.

I have also noticed a big change in behavior in the last few weeks. When I submit a post, it takes a LONG time to complete, or at least to refresh the page...no way to tell whether it is the post or the refresh that is taking so long.

This is on a Windows laptop.

It is NOT local... it is unique to the PY forum.

Edit - this one took 21 seconds

Edit 2 - the edit took almost 30 seconds to complete

Edit 3 - the 2nd edit completed in < 2 seconds... what I'm used to.

Edit 4 - the last edit took 50 seconds to complete...

No other web sites I visited lately show unusual delays...

Tip;
Once you click "post" in a thread go directly to "General Forums" tab at top of page.
You Do not have to wait, even if the post is still not finished.
Select forum from list you just posted in, you will see your response.
Do not click anymore than one time to post response.

Yes, I clicked on "New Posts" when waiting for a post to complete and found it had posted, just not refreshed my page.

So this suggests the delay is about refreshing, not about posting ??

Edit: I did this while waiting for this post to complete and found it had posted quickly, I just didn't know it because I was waiting for the thread page to refresh... arrrrgggghhhh

But you should not have to do that & never had to do it in the past. There is something recent causing this issue only on PY.

I only click "post" 1 time and have to wait 10-15 seconds, then get that message i posted above. This happens 3-4 times out of 5 so its random but very frequent.

For the last month at least, I have to still have to sign in daily. The issue persists.
