Because the intro of the 1969 GTO Ram Air IV was such an embarrassment. People quested why they should by a Ram Air IV when a 389 Tri power Bobcat seemed faster.

Sooooo. Jim Wangers offered John Kosmala a free rebuild of his 1965 GTO 389 Tri-power for the test. How could John say No?
