Default date codes

can someone give me a definitive answer are distributor date codes different than block, head, and intake codes,I know that A=JAN ,FEB =B,MAR=C,APR=D,MAY=E,JUNE=F,JULY=G,AUG,=H,SEPT=I,O CT=J,NOV=K,DEC=L,for heads, block, and intake,I was told there was no I for distributor, alternator, and starter,so basicallyA -H,would be the same as block dates,no I,so,SEPT=J,OCT=K,NOV=L,DEC=M, so if I had a distributor dated 9J23 it would be SEPT23,or OCT 23,THANKS

my 72 GT has an "I" date on the intake. from what i've read on here, the only year not to use "I" is '67. but, that has been debated and i'm no expert.

I am 99% sure A=JAN through L=DEC was used on intakes ,blocks and heads, but I was told distributor ,alternator and starter, use A=JAN through H=aug,I was not used,J=SEPT through M=DEC,but I cannot seem to get anyone to shed some light on this
