Default New Steering Wheel

Hi everyone
I am after a big big favour, if anyone can help
I am after a measurement
It is from the Steering wheel hub to the Steering column

Please see pic, of what I mean

mine is just a hair under 5/32"

My 15k mile 1973 is .232”. By comparison, 5/32” is .156”.

Mine is approximately 8mm or 5/16 ( .315 )
Which, to me, looks a bit large
When I am next off duty I will pull the wheel off again and check there is nothing behind, stopping it from going back a bit further
