Default 1969 Lemans Trunk Pan

I have to replace trunk pan in my Lemans which is a fully assembled car - a pic of my trunks condition below. Not sure which trunk pans will fit into the trunk opening so looking at these and wondering if anyone has experience with the type and or suggestions on which to use:

Are the this two piece trunk pans like this flanged where they meet in the middle so they may be plug welded? https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/7922...t9vXqKzqzKmRAQ

Am I better off with this type and then get the left and right side pieces? https://www.jegs.com/i/RESTOPARTS/75...7L+%2F+350+%29

Shopping for this stuff is rather confusing as different vendors seem to have different size pieces.

This one appears to be a full pan: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/g.../1969#overview

Full pan is what I went with in my '68. Tamraz was the vendor...No regrets, it fits great. You do have to partially lift the body off the frame to slide it in through the rear but it wasn't overly difficult to do.
But there's no way that price is correct?

Sliding it in from the rear requires removing of rear valance panel I assume?

There's really no valence on a '68. Just a pinchweld where the pan meets the rear of the trunk opening. That pinchweld is covered by the upper edge of the bumper.

I have to get better acquainted with the rear - maybe the same in 69. Also, even though the full trunk in the link came up in the feed, it says not compatible with mine- weird.

I'm pretty sure it's the same. I think I have some pics from when I did mine. I'll post them up.

Great- thanks. Any idea if the end that meets interior is different in a convertible?

I don't have any experience with the convertibles but I don't think there's any difference in the trunk pans. The only photos I could fiind that might help you are here. I know I have some better ones in my user profile photo album on this site but I haven't been able to open any of those in years.
Look at these pics. The painted portion that carries the trunk latch is the closest thing to a rear valence on these cars. The trunk pan comes up at the rear and is spot welded to that. The front edge is sandwiched between the seatback/trunk divider and the floor pan where it kicks up behind the seat.

Thanks for the pics - I don’t have experience in any of this but it seems if the mounts come out this would be less welding. Did you have to do a lot of trimming or fabrication of the replacement pan?

The one piece is definitely less weldy. The when I got had the braces and everything already in place. The hardest part was getting the oil pan out. There are lots and lots of spot welds. After dropping the gas tank I cut as much of the middle part of the pan out as I could and then it was just a matter of air chiseling and spot weld drilling around the perimeter to get the rest of it out.
If I run across any of my other photos I'll post them.

I hate autocorrect on these smart a$$ed phones.
Look at my profile. There is an album for the trunk pan work I did. One of them shows exactly what I wanted to show you but I can't find the picture anywhere else. You can see it in my album but you cannot enlarge it. It shows exactly where the rear of the trunk pan meets the pinch weld for the tail panel.

I assume all body mounts front to back have to be loosened? Also, about how far is the body lifted to make room for the trunk?

All were removed except for the fronts which were loosened. I raised it with a jack under the pumpkin and stands were placed under the rockers. The mounts were unbolted and the pumpkin let down. It didn't take a ton of room to get it in. Maybe a foot, foot and a half at the tail.
Actually, if you look at my first pic above you will see how far I had it lifted..

By the way, none of those pans are true FULL trunk pans.
This is what I used-

Thanks- did you have to brace the trunk or amy area to keep the body square?

I’m wondering if a convertible would need bracing.

I didn't but don't take my word for it. Convertible, maybe so.

Great pics in the album- car looks great. The first five pics don’t open and the others don’t show the trunk area.

BTT - hoping someone has an experience replacing the complete trunk pan in a convertible using method described above and can advise if it needs to be braced - see post 10 and 14

Well, I see that no one is jumping in with the answer so I will just say that if it were me I think I'd feel ok to do it as long as the doors are in place and shut.
