Need timing/ignition help.
My 67 bird would not start and I traced it back to the distributor (HEI). Went and got a new ignition module, rotor, and condensor. I replaced everything and when I start it there is a lot of popping through the carb. The car runs, but I am not able to line up the timing mark. Is there another mark, because the groove on dampner (stock) is 180 degrees away from the timing marks? I have checked and rechecked the work I did and I don't see how I put it on wrong. Could it be the module?

71, did you pull out the distributor at all?? No, then its not the module. Are you sure you have the plug wires on right on the distributor cap going counter clock wise??18436572.Car should start right up if nothing else was done unless your timing chain and gears are gone.Only way i know to be out 180 degree,s is that you pulled out the distributor and did not install it on the compression stroke.
