Default 1972 Grand Prix SJ Build Sheet

Just thought I would post a photo of the build sheet I found in this car for reference material. It was a well optioned car but I just wish they had also ordered a posi rear. Would have been a great looking car when new.

Very nice! I just completed a window sticker for a 1972 SJ 455 that's Starlight Black. Lots of examples I have came out of the Atlanta plant. These are such nice cars, one of my favorites. A bit of trivia is that these cars all had their window stickers mounted on an angle on the driver's quarter window. The form was a little too big for the size of the glass.

Plaza Pontiac was right near my house as I grew up. A good friend bought his 1969 Judge there, saw a new Can Am there on the showroom floor. I knew the parts counter guy well as I bought parts for my 1973 G/P. Great memories!

Lakewood built 72 SJ GP, did this one get parted out?

74SDFormula, did you pull the build sheet from behind the drivers side molded door panel? been my experience, that has been the go to spot on '71 & '72 Lakewood builds whether GP's or Abodys.

This car is in the process of being parted out. I pulled the drivers side door panel last weekend and was disappointed to find no build sheet. However last night I removed the passenger side door panel and was rewarded with this.

The 1971's wraparound the nose, the 1972's terminate at the end of the hood.

Thanks Mike.

Was a pin stripe D98 stripe option offered in 1969 and 1970 GP?

If so, post some pics of stripes for those years.

Wasn't the stripe part of the 71-72 SJ package?

For sure no stripe available in 69, not sure about 70

71-72 upper body line begs for a stripe but 69-70 doesn't since front and rear upper feature lines don't meet

Original paint and stripes on my old '71 4-speed stopped at hood edge. I have seen them done both ways.

Yes, stripes were part of the SJ pkg on '71-'72, optional on Model J.

I've seen a few original examples of a '70 with the optional stripes and they looked goofy to me. I found a photo of one example and another illustration from a '70 brochure (upper car in photo).
