That is same cost as going to 4L80E auto and doing all work yourself

After a bunch of delays the TKX is finally in the GTO. The issue that's come up is the shifter off set isn't quite right. It's the 2" left 1 inch down that it looks like everyone else is using. The shift porch is lined up with where the console will be. Any ideas as to why this is supposed to fit with a factory 4 speed console and it's this far off?

I use the White Lightening shifter for these swaps and never have an issue with the consoles. It has 5 offsets to choose from and each of those has multiple adjustments for literally several dozen positions for each offset chosen.

What shifter are you using?

I'm using the offset shift adapter that came with my TKX kit from modern driveline. It's 2 inches left and 1 inch down. That doesn't seem like enough. I'm wondering what others had to offset theirs with similar equipment in a 64-67

Did your shift tower look anything like this from SST?

It does not. You can kind of make it out in the picture I attached. The SST unit looks like it has a farther left and a little lower offset. I emailed those guys to get the exact numbers.

The shifter you have if from Red Roberts https://redrobertsinc.com/ I have the same shifter in My 65 LeMans and from the information that I can find it will fit console and non console applications. I just bought a console recently and laid it over the shifter the other day and it looks as though it will work just need a smaller shifter boot. Will try to install in the next few days/weeks

Your unit looks very similar to mine but it might be more of an offset. Please let me know how it goes getting the console on. If I can't get mine to work I have the White Lightning on the list so far. Does anyone have experience with the STX shifter and a factory console?
