Default Universal Griffin Radiator Install

Hey Everybody,
How do you install a universal Griffin radiator. I have one already needs to be replaced. I had a welding shop weld tabs on the tanks years ago for a price - not easily done now. They sell a universal mounting kit but I can't see how that would work for drag racing. Mine was bolted to a factory 72 gto radiator support with a plate made to secure the top and make fan shroud for electric fans.
Thanks Again, Craig

This is a great set up, 2 quick release pins and it is out of the way.

I was lucky the universal Griffin I used in the IA/Camaro had core that could use the same rubber and factory brackets. But the Camaro needed a slanted fill cap area on the tank the universal did not have so had to have that modified. Still was cheaper than the direct fit.

I made 2 support braces from 1-1/4" and welded those to the lower radiator support. The radiator sits on them. I put small turned up stops on them so they cradle. The radiator. Then for the sides, I made these brackets from billet aluminum. They clamp the sides and hold it to the core support. I'm no professional with my mill but they're OK.. You can see the bracket just lower than the top hose outlet. It bolts to the core support then clamps onto the radiator tank.

This is the one i am using on my car, similar to what Dave posted above https://quartermax.com/radiator-mount-kit/ I ordered some 1/4-20 aluminum bungs https://www.racepartsolutions.com/it...num-weld-bungs to weld to the front of my old universal aluminum radiator. I will post pics when I get to that point of the project, still mounting the bumper.
