Default Short block machine work in Arizona?

I have been out of action for over 10 years, but would finally like to have my block worked on and rotating assembly balanced. Well it seems like all the Pontiac specialist machine shops that I knew of in the Phoenix area are gone, and so is AZ Crankshaft and a certain forum member both in Tucson are also out of business?

What is my closest option worth sending a good 400 block and 15 yr old Scat crank to for a mild blower build ~ 700hp?

Paul Carter has built numerous Pontiac engines and has in the past posted here on PY.
Unless things have recently changed Paul operates Carter Cryogenics in association with Koerner Engineering in Tucson Arizona , they build racing engines.

The last time I talked to Paul he had a two year waiting list.

Frank from all Pontiac is in that area. I'm sure he knows where to get some machine work done around there

I have most of my machine work done in Chandler at CBA. Talk to Scott or Zack, tell them I sent you. They are very accurate with their machining, just tell them what you want.
If you have further questions, you can email me.
For any Pontiac blown application, I highly recommend adding a 2nd keyway on the crank snout. While you are having it machined, be sure to give the machinist your hub or balancer as well. Best to you.

We had to send mine out to mile high, that’s who Frank recommended.

Mike Zimmerman has done a few Pontiac engines for me. He's doing an LQ4 for my son right now.

I agree about the second keyway. 3 shops around me declined to do it. Even Butlers balked at doing it, until I said I would buy a crank if they would add a keyway to it. I did send my balancer to them and it was not returned. I had put my name on it with tape and they found it an returned it. (Mark your parts.)
