Default Harmonic bal question

Can you use a 68& later balancer on a 67 8bolt WP setup?

If not, please explain why

No, 67 and earlier balancers are smaller diameter so the timing pointer is in a different location on the front cover. The larger diameter late balancer will hit the timing tab on the early timing cover.

Yes if you make sure the timing marker on the cover clears. You can grind it down and use my steel replacement tab. Then the only difference is the water pump pulley alignment. As far as balance, no difference.
