Tires will be Goodyear F60-15 Polyglas bias ply unless noted as radials on the PHS.

That is sweeeeet! Wish he would leave the honey's on but I guess he had one just like this when he was younger and it had rally's on it. The wide ovals look the best, I will have to check phs to see what it had originally then get with the owner to make a decision on that. He wants the car to look like it rolled off the showroom floor, orange peel and all, not over done. I think that's gonna be harder to do than making it perfect. LOL

I love the idea of owning something you had in your youth. It's what makes us car guys. Not sure orange-peel is that part I would associate with any of that?

My first car was fun but it wasn't a "off the showroom floor" 73 4 speed Brewster TA either.

Sounds like this guy waited a while to relive that part too...

BTW, this was Dennis Jensens car, talked to him today and he said the original owner told him it originally had the F70 15 wide ovals on it and it does not denote that on the PHS. Also, the interior and fuel tank have never been out of the car so we should find a build sheet. I cant wait to tear it down!

My guess is there is no build sheet on the car which would be the norm for a 73 Norwood build. Doesnt hurt to look though!

Craig, I said it was my picture not my car Surprisingly I dont miss that trophy sitting in my garage like I thought I would.

I assume this would've been an F-60x15 bias tire car?

The reason I ask... Is there is a really old early 70's GR70x15 Pirelli in the trunk that probably replace the Firestone recall tires. Because of that I assumed that the car came radials... I recently bought a set of 70 series radials thinking they were the correct size for the car.

Here's my SD Formula's PHS. Radial white letter tires (Firestone 500), as denoted in the window sticker under Handling Package, although the PHS just says Handling Package with no additional mention of radials.

So in comparing your SD Formula's PHS with mine, above, I would think that your car came with the GR-70 Radials. Remember that the Formulas were an "a la carte" option car. Not like a T/A that had everything already included.

In 1973, GR70 radials were an option on the Trans Am, too, $56 if you had the space saver spare, $70 if you had the full sized spare.

Were "60 series tires" really a factory option on any 2nd Gen TA?

Asking because I really don't know and was under the impression that "70 Series" was the factory performance tire.

They were standard on '70-'73 Trans Ams...and optional on Formulas. The 15" 70 series tire was made available in '73 as optional equipment on the T/A's and Formulas. The 70 series radial tire became standard in '74 on the T/A...but not sure about the Formula..
