Default 1956 Pontiac dual quad engine information needed

I'm asking for information on this engine for a friend of mine. He has found what he believes to be a old nascar engine and is hoping to get some more information to decode it. All I know at this point is it's a 56 dual quad engine.

Just the air cleaner assembly for that motor is worth a small fortune if it’s still present.!

I saw one when I was very young. Wow! I thought. I think that is where that 524886 camshaft originated.

Hmmmm, wonder if the 1956 Salt Falts Pontiac Engrg 24 hour lifetest video (about 15-20minutes) is the Ab Jenkins 24 hour run.

Is on CD, and willing to know best way, place to upload it.

Wallace racing showed 522845 as the 2 4 heads. From what little I know the ones he has have a bigger combustion chamber and need cut .071 to get the same compression ratio. Other than that both heads are the same

2-blot block was good enough for early nascar huh. Wonder what rods were successful.

Interesting specs John. Ignition timing surely wasn't "aggressive"- no more than 30 degrees @ 4,000 RPM!
