1981 Lemans, full interior including back seat, functional power
windows, door locks, tilt wheel and console with full dash.Car is certified to
8.50.
3920 lbs race weight.

Rear: Non tubbed, Ford 9" 3.73 gears, ladder bars, 28x10.50 Hoosier slicks
on Weld rims, 12 way shocks.
Front: Tubular arms, factory springs meant for the weight of a 6 cylinder
engine, drag shocks. Full inner wheel wells, 4 whl disc brakes.
Turbo 400. 3800 stall. trans brake.
1-7/8" headers that go into a 3-1/2" full length exhaust(including rear tail
pipes) with mufflers.
SD Performance built(thanks Dave!)541 c.u. in. IA II block. N/A. 10.90-1
compression, SD Performance wideport E-heads.
PUMP GAS.

I finally got the engine installed in late September of 2009 or in the words
of my business partner and builder of the motor, Dave Bisschop; We finally
completed Marcel's 541 wideport E-headed engine, or should I say I finally
let him have it after using it for 2 years of R&D testing!! LOL. We got it
to the track on a cold Friday October 9 which was the last test and tune
before the track shut down for the season/winter. We only had time for a few
shake down runs.Track prep was poor, but we did manage to run 6.22 @
110.5mph in 1/8th and close to a full pass laid down a 9.93 @ 136mph
spinning off the line(we got booted off at this point as none of has a Comp
licence and we had been warned after our 1/8th mile pass) The engine dynoed
at 815hp on pump gas @ 6700rpm, 9.70's or quicker won't be a problem in 2010
with a bit of tuning and seat time.
Once we have the car dialed in on the motor, then we are going to try a
little 250- 400 shot of spray(Dave built this as a nitrous motor for me)
I do drive the car on the street(and not just to the corner store and back)
as my kids love going for rides and have had zero problems doing this.
I have attached copies of the time slips(car # J673) and some photo's of the
car. Hopefully, I did the attachment(s) correctly.

Hey Marcel, on the SD web site I TOLD you Dave would get you bounced from your local drag strip for going faster than your tech. He did it to me last season at Englishtown...several times when I was still racing my 69 goat. That car was almost the same exact weight as your LeMans and I eventually went a 9.80 @ 139 after you guys did my WP's, Victor, and specced a new cam. If I could have left harder on the brake, I'm pretty sure it had a tenth or two left in it. Anyway, congrats on getting your ride to the track finally and laying down some 9 second passes. Happy holidays to you and please pass those wishes on to Dave and Lisa as well.

PS: did Dave get his hands on a set of the new Victors yet?

This is a clip of my son, in my car, this past summer. I only made a few testing passes because of having had operations on my shoulder. My best pass is in my signature, but it was on a breakout pass, and I was off the throttle. I did run a pass at 165.97 and clicked off a 60' of 1.1742, but Marty is about 50 lbs. heavier than I am. LOL!
