Question front wheel drive

I am really familiar w/rear wheel drive, what about front wheel drive? Is the driver's or passenger side axle the main driving force? Are there limited slip options out there?

Your primary drive axle will be the longer of the two axles. In the 1980's Chrysler build their turbo cars with equal length front axles by adding a short third axle that went from the transaxle to a mount on the engine block's side. There the second axle mated with it and went to the wheel making it the same length as the short axle on the other side.

The TH-425 used in Tornados is an interesting piece. Not to mention it's a BOP housing pattern. Curious why P or B didn't leverage it in sister cars.

Talking main driving axle

"Your primary drive axle will be the longer of the two axles." This appears to answer my question. Thanks to all who participated.

Pretty sure it’s down to inertia. It’s a normal open diff but if you put too much power too quickly it is true that the lighter driveshaft wants to spin first. I know in the Chryslers the long shaft was hollow, the short solid for this reason. And with high power you could get torque steer if the driveshaft angles differed side to side. This was the reason for the intermediate shaft on the turbo cars. To get equal length shafts to the wheels so the drive angles would match.

FWD is mostly just RWD but mushed together and sideways.
