Cool "Stirrin' the pot" . . .

Not much goin' on in the '70-'72 section today . . . thought I'd "stir the pot" just a bit.

I had a VERY interesting phone conversation early this afternoon.

As a result of that conversation, myself and my good friend John Chung (gto4door) will be travelng to inspect a car for sale in the next couple of weeks.

It's a 1 of 3 Pontiac. Nicely optioned, good colors. Been stored inside for the past 14 years.

Care to guess what it might be?

Sorry, but I can't reveal anything else until we take a peek and some pics, and view the docs.

Once I reveal the info, I will be looking for some current market value advice.

I must also comment that in light of my current financial woes, I can't see any way to afford this one. I'll be helping the guy find a good home for it.

If you're not buying why not just tell us what the car is now?

Well . . . because if the car is everything that I've been told it is, I'll HAVE to find a way to finance it for myself.

Financial woes be damned.

I'm guessing he's found that FORD GTO/Torino cross-breed that gto4ever found in the assembly manual - now that would be a truly rare find And, I'll bet it's a '72 to boot!

Sooo then you are buying and not helping the guy "find it a new home." I hope it works out. Good luck with the purchase. I guess you feel that if you told us "what" the car is we will somehow find out "where" it is and skunk ya' out of the deal! LOL Classic car guys are funny.

It is indeed a '70-'72 A-body Pontiac, that's why I started the thread in this section.

I won't be able to make a decision on whether I'm gonna try to buy the car myself, or help the owner market the car, until John and I can personally inspect the car and it's docs.

There were a total of 747 HO A-bodies built in 1972. 645 were GTOs (10 coupes – 3 M22s, 7 M40s; 635 hardtops – 310 M22s, 325 M40s), 21 were LeMans GTs (14 hardtops – 10 M22s, 4 M40s; 7 convertibles – 2 M22s, 5 M40s), and 81 were regular LeMans’ (9 coupes – 5 M22s, 4 M40s; 26 convertibles – no breakdown; 26 hardtops – no breakdown).

I think Boss is the winner? GTO Coupe HO M-22 is a 1 of 3

Jeff could be too - they claim to have made 3 GTO wagons, and if I'm not mistaken, Lloyd just sold his LeMans because he was in hot pursuit of an endura wagon......

It's a 2-door car.
