Default New guy to this forum

Hi Everyone:

I came across this place today while on another forum and it looks like I've been missing out. I have a '67 Firebird, and it's a bit modified to say the least.

I look forward to checking this board out more.

-Brendon

Is that a bare-metal bird? Pretty cool looking whatever it is. Gives it a slightly 'post-apocalypse' look...lol
Welcome.

Thank you, everyone! I'll reply to specifics below

Thank you. It's been a 5.5 year build in my garage and I've had it on the road for just over a year now with 5k miles on it. My goal was a track day capable driver. It has many of the typical pro touring modern mechanicals (at least the engine is from an '02 T/A, ha ha) but I wanted to keep a vintage feel to it so it retains much of the original interior and I've avoided trying to force fit on new bits like mirrors, shaving drip rails, etc. I've also made a lot of custom body mods to improve aesthetics and function. So far so good, imo. I have documented the build on Lateral-G and on Hotrodders.com

http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/show...ht=Brendon%27s

http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/jour...ournalid=20939

The Firebird build starts from near the back- page 64 or so

Here's a video of it on the dyno:

Yes, so far I've had the car 2x at Auto Club Raceway on the Roval. I want to go to big Willow but haven't yet.

Welcome.
LOL, yes. It's actually clear coated over the bare metal (KBS "diamond clear") It wasn't my plan from the beginning but after 4 years into the build I reached a point that I wanted to drive it sooner than later so I figured this would be a cheaper/ faster way to get the car in a drivable state. After doing this I've received way more positive recognition for it than I would have ever imagined, plus the fact that I do take it to track day relieves any concerns of ever damaging a nice paint job. It also makes the car much less of a hassle to drive on a regular basis as I don't need to detail it every time I drive it, or worry about stone chips, etc. It's amazing how many people come up to the car and touch it at shows, ha ha. So I'll leave it like this for a while. The original plan was to paint it its original special order color of verdoro green.

Yea I think I remember looking at your build thread and being blown away by the metal work/body mods.

Really dig the quarter vents
