if not how much fuel does it need?

My stock fuel pump used to get VERY warm from engine heat and I think it was causing me grief by heating the fuel on the way up to the carb, also I would loose pressure on a long trip, doing 60mph up the highway I would see the fuel pressure drop to 1-2psi so if I would give it a hit or try accelerating up a hill it would just bog down and want to die. I'm not sure if this is normal with a pontiac mechanical pump or a problem at that..... or I just had a clapped out pump, but thought it was worth bringing up.

Since the move over to electric, no more fuel issues. Constant 6PSI, just the noise to battle with.
