Just pulled the crank ,,,,,nice ...

I also noticed the rear cam bearing is not installed flush is cock-eyed....its worse than the pic shows

The rear cam bearing will not sit flush. It will stick out a little in some places. The oil hole has to line up.

Maybe a dumb question but I see you are running solid roller lifters on a hydraulic roller cam.
I know that if using regular solid lifters you have to use restrictors in the lifter bores or smaller hole pushrods to decrease the amount of oil that goes to the top end.
Is this the same for roller lifters or do you already have restrictors?

Just throwin' this out there. New crank dont mean anything to me. Just reground a new 4.25X3.00" . Not concentric, not round, some barrel (.0003"') and some tapper on the rod thows. Stroke index was out and a little large on stroke. Took .0107 off the NEW crank. New bearings yada yada. I am happy with it now.

Don....Nope No Restrictors..don't need them from what I understand....I haven't been told I need to....and the pushrods I dont beleive are small holed but I'm not 100% ...would need to check the pushrods for a Part #...yet.....

I realize the new crank will be checked ...I'm just not happy with the one I have....anymore

I have built a lot of Pontiac's, including 455's that rev to 7200rpm's, and 541's that rev to 7800 rpm's or more. I don't use restrictors in anything. I have never had an engine suffer from a bearing failure. This failure is NOT from not running restrictors. Cleanliness, bearing prep, and good oil is the key to happy bearings.

Well we are on the road to Resurrection .....All my parts for the rotating assembly are in hand and off to Machine shop Sat.......the process begins.......


One quick question...my old ( 1500 miles) balancer and flexplate ...is there any value to them since they have been " adjusted " to match my original crank or are they door stops..???
