Back 10 years ago before I painted my LeMans I put on a set of of spec judge stripes I picked up off of eBay. We jokingly called it "The Bailiff"

tires are 225 70 14. Stock suspension - very original car. I was told it was the original top, but is there any way to tell? It looks factory and has the stamp on the back glass.

Best way to spot a factory installed top (or at least a GM supplied replacement) is that factory tops have the pebble grain texture like replacements on the main vinyl yardage but they have thicker and natural grained vinyl (like the interior seat material or Cordova tops) for all the trimming around the edges and around the back curtain etc.

Replacement tops use the same pebble grain on all the top components.

Also a factory rear window curtain will have factory markings (LOF, PPG etc) on the glass itself. If the car had tinted side windows then the rear window would also be Soft-Ray which no aftermarket tops offer

Wow another revived thread. This one originally "ended" before I even got started restoring my Lemans. And that was 7+ years ago! I've owned this matador red Lemans vert for almost 20 years now- its still my favorite Pontiac ever.

Getting ready to cruise the neighborhood with nieces.

A bit more than just a nice cruiser.

Digging in at the strip.

I can't wait to finish the GTO, sell it, and build a bad ass Lemans or Tempest.

That HO caught my eye, very rare and heavily optioned. A great find!

Is a GTO cloned Custom S allowed in this? Or am I not allowed in this or the GTO picture thread? It is the transvestite of them both.

Hehehe... you are an outcast. Shunned by the GTO crowd, hated by the Lemans crowd. Maybe you could hang out with those unfortunate Tempest owners ...but I hear they have an attitude about the Custom S.

Just kidding, I love them all.

Maybe I need to start a custom S GTO clone picture thread. Where the 10 of us could come together and bond

Honestly ... I think nice GTOs are more common these days than a nice lemans or Tempest. Ten years from now a Lemans or Tempest could be THE car to own.

I guess I belong to a unique club... downhill cloner. I cloned a GTO from a GTO Judge! Back in the 80's I bought a real 70 Judge (orbit with black guts and 4 speed) and since I didn't like Judges I pulled the wing and swapped the glove box emblem and repainted the car with a lousy black shoot (with just the GTO decals) instead of the orbit orange. I even put trim rings and a factory wood shift knob to get rid of the T-handle!

Has anyone cloned a GTO into a LeMans?
