Default anybody adapt '04-06 GTO 4 wheel discs to Classic GTO?

Anyone know what is involved in doing this, or hear of anyone doing this conversion? I would love to get the '05-'06 style red calipers w/GTO name on them, and adapt to my '66 GTO. I have no clue how different the Austrailian suspension is from a classic GTO suspension (spindles, rear axles, etc). I would imagine the new cars are all metric for starters.

Way different. I'm sure it could be done but with lots of fabrication.

Actually, it should be quite easy.

Look into Kore3.com for some ideas. You can use the original drum hub. I think the red calipers are the same as the vette ones, so you should be able to go to 12" or 13", but wheels need to fit as well.

There are other options...look at pro-touring.com and check it out. Lots of options. I have a lot of sites saved if you have trouble, but a little investigation should go a long way.

Thanks, I'm actually on pro-touring.com with my truck. I'll be looking into this.

Thanks for the Kore3 site info. I have never heard of them before.

You can try these guys here in OZ. they are the leaders in aftermarket brake conversions using the GTO [Monaro] 300mm & 290mm rotors n twin piston calipers 28mm thick vented rotors in their kits. They list chev 55-70 and camaro 67-70 as some kits that are avail. Im sure if you tell 'em your states-side they may have at least a spindle you can use ya?.

Even better...their website is... www.hoppers.com.au they are interstate from me but if you require any mailing help or other, i'd be glad to help. They are a big company over here and have been around for a while so I dont think you will have any dramas.

Also $1.00 US = $1.30 OZ, so could work in your favour too ya?
cheers Dave

It looks like Kore3 has all of the answers & their prices are right. Due to the price of the 2005-2006 GTO calipers being twice as much as the Corvette calipers (new from GM), for a product that is essentially the same aside from cosmetics, the GTO calipers are not really worth using, unless they could be gotten real cheap.

I haven't made the decision to do it yet, but Tobin at Kore3 has been very helpful. They are interested in developing a kit for the 1990-1993 454SS trucks, and I will probably do my truck first. My GTO is basically stock, so I don't know if I need big brakes yet. I would love to do the Corvette calipers on my truck, front & rear.
