Default A Charlie Brown Christmas

A reminder: A Charlie Brown Christmas is only available for viewing on Apple TV, but this weekend (Saturday 12/16 and Sunday 12/17) you can watch it for free without having to sign up for their service. Just go to the Apple TV website and it should be right there.

I've seen it every year since it was first aired in 1965, so it's kind of a holiday tradition for me.

I've seen it many, many times. Don't have Apple TV so looks like I'll miss it this year.

That was why I posted - you don't have to have a subscription, this weekend you can watch it on their website without one.

One of the all-time great soundtracks, IMO.

noticed that. not going to deal with that, charlie brown is a must view for christmas so got the cd's on the cheap at walley world. they have a holiday display section with all the classics.

as a kid we kept a close eye on the tv guide because these were only on once a year here, and only had 3 channels!

I have always like the ending where Linus explains the true meaning of Christmas to Charlie Brown.

It pisses me off that a classic, that most of us watched every year as kids, has been relegated to a streaming service that some of us don't have. And, I'm an Apple guy. But I don't feel like subscribing to more and more services.

2nd! No doubt about it! Over the years, we had the VG soundtrack 1st on vinyl, then CD now back to a remastered vinyl. Also, CBC on VHS then DVD along with Halloween. Great stuff!

I hope you enjoy it, Bob. I'm also a lifelong fan of Jean Shepherd, and recall hearing so many of the vignettes in the film told by him on his 20-year run on WOR-AM radio in the 60s and 70s. Many were published as short stories which I read to our kids 20 years ago. The image of a Model A Ford body sitting in the yard with snow is also part of my childhood.

Agreed. I can can hear 3 notes of any piece from the soundtrack and my day brightens.

Before my wifes passing I bought the 'Leg Lamp' the bigger one. Wife would get upset me putting it in our front small room window. We live on a 2 lane country well used road plus there are 10 new $$$$ homes across the road from us. I tried to explain the meaning of the lamp. Being partially Italian(Pescatore) I and my father had an attraction for that story. I have the movie on dvd. I want to get his other movies but havent. Those stories bring back lots of fond memories.

It's a Charlie Brown Christmas in MN. 47° and raining. I've lived here all my life and never seen it like this.

It was 54 degrees in Minneapolis and we got two inches of rain. Since the ground hasn't frozen yet it all soaked in, which was the one good thing about it since we've been in a drought for so long. Back down in the low 30s today, but that's still above normal for this time of year.

"Fra-gee-lee", must be from Italy

Our favorite is 1938movie "You Can't Take it with You". Jimmy Stewart does rather well.
