Default Is anyone using a Summit Racing aluminum radiator?

I'm currently in the market for an aluminum radiator. I heard that a 2 row 1.25 core is the way to go. Has anyone used the summit line of radiators? This is the one I am looking at for my 70 GTO.

I tried one for my 69 GTO back in 2011. It wasn't a direct bolt in and required some modification so I sent it back.

The 2 row 1.25 tubes is definitely a good choice though. I bought one on Ebay and it works great.

I purchased one from champion for my 64. I'm very happy with it.

Im using the Summit aluminium radiator. No issues except for the lower tube was slightly dented during shipping. Causes a small leak. I also had to trim the radiator shroud slightly to get it to fit.

Have one in the drag car and it has been trouble free for over a dozen years. No problem cooling the 525 on hot days either at the track.

I went with a Cold Case. It's a fantastic product, keeps my 469 cool on the street and on the strip.

I bought this one from Auto City Classics. It's is the same dimensions as my current 4 row and it has two 1.125" rows. I'll let y'all know how it works.

I have this as well and it looks to be the same dimensions as the aftermarket brass I took out. I will report back too when the engine is assembled and fired. The fins per inch was 15, compared to the brass aftermarket its sitting in it looks good.

Yep, Ponchjoe. I read your thread about it which prompted me to buy it.

I have a Summit "Direct Fit" radiator in my 69 bird. It mounts to the rad support just fine and cools my engine well. It has a built in trans cooler too. However, I had to make a hole in the shroud for the upper rad hose because the width of the rad is a bit narrower than a factory rad. Over all I'm very happy with the quality. It was about $269 back in 2009 IIRC...

Summit Direct fit with 2000 LS F body Fans and shroud from local junkyard. Works perfectly. Teardown pic, was transferred to a new body.
