Works great until the tube in the exhaust crossover part of the manifold perforates from rust. Then exhaust gas is drawn into the choke housing, which carbons-up the whole works and can promote corrosion.

The hot-side of the tubing can be attached to the choke housing with a special, high-temperature silicone hose, or be screwed-on with a tube nut and flare.

I've got a couple photos of the entire tube system, including one removed from a manifold--attached. First photo has an unfortunate shadow that makes it look like there's a double-loop of tubing sticking out of the manifold.

I would want to remove it if I went with another carb, such as Edelbrock etc.
if I stayed with the original AFB I would keep it, still deciding what to do thx
