Default Lemans VIN Lookup

Hey all you Lemans guys...do me a favor and check something out for me. I'm "missing" a 70 Lemans, green, 2 door hardtop. It was last seen in Jacksonville, Illinois and was removed from storage. The VIN is 237370R149765. If any of you have older parts cars or find a green Lemans with that VIN, please let me know. My email address is LostLemans@stayinganalog.com and I'd be interested in ANY information about this car. Even if you don't know where it is, if you can recall ever having come across it, were offered the car for purchase, inquired about how much it was, etc, I'd be very interested in knowing. The car was stored in the back lot of the Westown Ford dealership in Jacksonville. When the lot was sold a few years ago the car disappeared. The original owner of the lot has since moved and denies having ever heard of the car however I can guarantee that it was there and have personally talked to people who remember seeing the car and attempting to purchase it.

If, for any reason, you do have any information on the car but don't want to provide your name or remain anonymous, I'm fine with that, I just want information on the car.

Here's my '71. I bought it in '87 as my first car. Lot of fun to drive and work on. Taking it in to get a new white top and have the rear bumper rechromed this week.

Very nice! Where did you buy the repro tires? Are they radials made to look like the old polyglass tires, or are they just like the orginals? How do they handle?

Default Coker tire

Bought them from Coker Tire. They were at a swap meet here in Ky, and had a booth set up. They were $146.00 each. They shipped them free of charge since they did not have them at the show. Saved about a hundred bucks.
They are polyglass, just like they made in the seventies. They ride good. Not as good as the radials on my 16x8 rims but good.Bought them to run at the factory stock drags in martin michigan next month. Wish me luck.

Good luck! What does "factory stock" mean anyway? just appearances? What are the rules on a roll bar, 13 or less in the 1/4?

Factory stock means just that. Everthing the way it was or was available that yearas far as appearance and drivetrain.
Some variations are a .030 overbore and a 2.5 inch dual exhaust.
Must run factory carb, intake and exh manifolds and air breather. Find more rules at purestockdrags.com.
I believe for a convertible, the rules say you must have a roll bar for 13.99 or quicker.

Thanks TP, It drives great and the top is down everyday I drive it. However, I have to give credit where due, I bought this pretty much as is since the PO owners did a great job of keeping it up and the last owner provided the upgrades. I almost feel guilty but I'll get over it. Here is a shot from the front (with sun glints) and of the interior.
