Poor Webber! The guy seems to be cursed. Hamilton?..
Kudos to team Lotus. Vettel is just incredible.

Agree 100%. What initially appeared to be another snoozer race turned into quite the exciting event - even without the rain!
That right front tire explosion of Sergio Perez, and general tire degradations proved to be another issue for this event. So much so, that prior to Webbers fire, Red Bull had run out of white striped Medium tires, and the team put him on red stripe Softs for the rest of the race...long past their number of laps of viability. If not for the fire, it is doubtful Webber would have been able to complete the race on that set of tires... coupled with the engineering radio transmission to Vettal post pit stop that the prior set of removed tires "the right front was beyond limits (of wear)" tires were indeed, again, a distraction at best. Pirelli states: "Pirelli: Drivers wrong to criticize Tyres" "Paul Hembry has hit back at Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber after both drivers have criticized the Pirelli Tyres in Korea." http://www.planetf1.com/news/3213/89...g-To-Criticise The Unmarked "Fire Response" Jeep Cheerokee style vehicle with no emergency safety lights on track with cars @ full speed and no local or full coarse yellow lights could have resulted in a tragic accident. Fortunately no accident occurred. The FIA certainly will be investigating further and be thankful they dodged a bullet on that incident. But it does appear the it was the FIA who released the Fire Truck during local white flags at the direction of race director Charkie Whiting...http://www.planetf1.com/driver/18227...ean-fire-truck And "Nico Rosberg says 'cocky' Vettel deserves to be booed following lazy comments." http://news.sma****s.com/940247/Nico...y-comments.htm (sub "smashhits" after news dot for active link. PY auto blocking correct txt in link). Watch the F1 movie "RUSH" and you will get an idea of Vettels' mentality and methods - very similar to Nikki Lauda IMO. Great movie BTW. My wife and I both agreed that it was an excellent start-to-finish story after viewing it last night @ the movie house. The soundtrack, vintage race and street cars, race track, audience and racers attire seemed dead on. |

Sergio Perez Korean GP right front tire separation
Mark Webber looks on and might have been thinking of the "Burn Baby Burn, Disco Inferno" song as he witnessed his Red Bull's carbon fiber burn in Korea. |

Do you think Red Bull didn't want Webber "accidentally" taking out Vettal? After all, Webber's nothing to lose for the rest of the season. |

I asked the question about the air if it bothered the performance of the engines. I imagine they have a tune up to compensate.
Weber, well if he was not very upset before he sure is now. I would not be surprised if he takes Seb out in one of the last 3 races. Then maybe blows his up just to ef um. patrick

I'd think there should be something given as a token reprimand for all other drivers to also adhere to the rules. Thoughts? |
