These midline stripes were only available on the A-body and F-body Sprints and 350 H.O. F-body's in '68...no stripes in '69 on either...that I know of.

yes in 69 only the Sprints got stripes
and those could be deleted.
F body no longer had the option of Rally stripe package or the HO stripes for the 350 HO.

F body never got stripes as part of the Sprint package
A body Sprint(except 4 dr in 67) got them 66-69

67-8 F body did offer optional Rally stripes for all but the 350 HO.
350 HO got the HO stripes(which could also be deleted)
no 400s came with HO stripes,or Ram Air stripes as Ive seen some do.

Could that have come with a chrome rocker molding? That would make it pop a little. It would go with the stripe.

To me it resembles a side guard rub strip, a bit wide but it still looks like one.

Ultimately it’s your car and the opinions of others shouldn’t have much bearing if any regarding what you do with it.

Bart! Now that's all I can see when I look at the picture...a body side moldings on steroids! (LOL!)

Wife says "no stripe". Doesnt work on the shape of the 4-door sedan style. I'm going to have to agree with her. There was a 69 LeMans Sprint convertible in my past, so I'm partial to the stripe.

No stripes or protective body side moldings.

It seems like maybe you want to give the car some extra identity to help bring out the hidden 350 H.O. status.
I'd probably get some small 350 H.O. decals made that resemble the 455 H.O. decals , and put one on each side of the center hump of the hood towards the front.

The wheel / hubcap combo isn't really working well with the flow..
Silver wheels and dogs , or full size hubcaps , or R2 wheels w/o rings , imho

Thanks BVZ! I like the idea of the 350 H.O. decal in the 455 H.O. style. Funny you mention the bare Rally II's as Dan & I were thinking the same thing. I'm not sure what color the factory painted bare steel wheels on a palladium silver car, but I think is was black. I agree, silver wheels with dog dishes would look better than black...working with what we got right now, however.

As for the stripes, most folks say yuck, I'm still undecided. I like this white '68 with the red H.O. style stripe.

Ha! Never disagree with your wife, smart move! Seriously, thanks for the input...I'm leaning towards no-stripe now.
