Default Rear shocks

I'm looking for some good quality shocks for my 1962 Catalina. From what I have seen ...before 1963 they did not make shocks for the Catalina HAHA. But I have seen a 1958 to ? for B bodies shocks, but I'm not sure what that means. A little help please

thanks
Jim

Hey Jim,

Were you able to find rear shocks and springs for your 62 Cat? I'm trying right now to get the parts. NAPA sez Moog 5043 but, Moog website disagrees. Finding rear shocks is difficult as well. Any luck?

Well, just to say, I believe Kanter can get springs & shocks, may want to check with them. They list gas charged shocks and shock links:

http://www.kanter.com///index.aspx?T...t=0&MSb=0&Prc=

For shocks, at least big name ones, they generally have a 'master' listing, which shows extended/compressed length, mounting (both ends), valving, and some even list vehicle weight ranges. Some companies don't make that info public, others do, but you could probably pick a place like Bilstein or Koni, call and ask. You can use your old shock as a guide, like sometimes manufacturers' part numbers break down the lengths/valving in the number like spark plugs.

If they're shock links in the back, that may take a little digging. I still say call Kanter, they have gone down this road a million times.
