Default Rear Window Reveal Trim Plastic Pieces?

Are these pieces important?

They were on the underside of my rear window reveal trim. At least that’s what I had them marked as coming from.

I don’t recall these pieces during my 71 restoration.

Any idea on how they were supposed to be installed and where? Or just toss them out?

They slide inside the trim, on the backside.

Mine were all blown out and deteriorated, so I didn't run them.

All of my '70s have had these....
I assume it was intended to stop squeaks or rattles between the trim piece and the glass.

Slip them in, even in bad condition they help to some extent, trim won't rub on glass for one. You can also get it in repro but in the form of much smaller tabs instead of strips. I have both as only half had the strips still fitted.

Good info thanks!

Couple questions: 1. Does is go under 4 pieces of the rear reveal ? 2. Has anyone seen it on the front reveals? It would make sense on those pieces also. 3. Where would the repro small pieces be available from?

Thanks!
