Home built air shifter
I have been running a gamblers series all year. A mix of box and no box cars. Seems like the older I get I have a tuff time hitting the shifts, late and early. Think it's a lack of concentration.
I already had a Biondo 10 oz, bottle and regulator. I bought an air actuator for $16. (25mm bore and 100mm throw) and a 12v solenoid for $15. I am using the rpm switch on my 7al box. I also added a limit switch to the shifter to lock out the air solenoid in third gear. It will only shift twice. Works great jumping it out. We will see how it works at the track tomorrow night. I think an air shifter for under $40 is great. |
