Welcome and thanks for posting the pics Pontibeast and more importantly, thanks for your service! Nice to see another 71 back in service. Hoping I will be cruising this year myself!

Default My Tempest

Wanted to do something a little different with my Tempest. Saw an article last year on the dealer prepped Magnum 400. Since my car already had a YS 400 transplanted into it, along with a 68 GTO 355 axle I was already mostly there. Ordered the stripes from Phoenix Graphics and had the Magnum 400 decals made from a picture. Really think it made a huge difference from my plain Tempest.

That really looks cool. I love cars that are different, one of the big reasons I love Pontiacs so much. You just don't see as many of them on the road as you do all the other muscle cars.

She's a little ruff around the edges but she's solid.

Here is my 72 and it doesn't look like she quite fits in the thread. They all look to be about factory restoration. I'm building a 468 stroker for it with a 9" in the rear and looking to swap the TH-400 to a tremec. Get rid of the wheels for something more classic looking and repaint it.

Normally I don't like being bossed around but you're the man so I'll tell you a little about it.

I picked it up out in Tuscon for $800. He was asking a grand but I let him keep the rims & tires because he needed them for other projects. It's basically a train wreck but that's the original paint.

I don't have the cash to do much with it right now so I've just been getting rid of dents & dings and stripping as I go.

I would call the car extremely solid but it does need patches in the lower cowl area and a small patch on the drivers floor pan, not a big deal in my book.

Yep. 350 3spd car. I was happy to see the clutch pedal dangling when I got there. Doesn't look like the car came with any options.
