Default What was the upgrade on the

Windows effect and what did the handling package actually add over the base model?

I got my first GTO, a beat to hell 69 back when I was sixteen in the 80s.
I got a decent driver 69 about ten years ago,
I kick myself in the ass for not grabbing a driveable two post bench seat column shift Tempest with a 350 a few years after that,
And now am going over this 70.

I am a fan, but not an expert.

I appreciate any info.

I am driving in the rain, at night, running errands, with the kids who are eating and having ice cream in the back, after going to the drag strip, burning rubber, and blowing donuts. Do you really think it's numbers matching all original?"

I believe it's larger sway bar and special springs...

Firmer springs & different valves shocks were the addition when Ride & Handling option was clicked off on a '70-71 242 series (GTO). Swaybar diam stayed the same on the GTO, 1 1/8" front, 7/8" rear. The firmer springs raised the ride height by aprox 1". All 70 & '71 Judges were built with ride & handling.

When Ride & Handling option was ordered on a 233 series for the 70 & 71 model years, the front swaybar diam was also increased by a 1/16". That may be the case on '70 & 71 235 series as well.

Same as OPH said on the Ride&Handle

The glass was Tinted - ALL
Will say Soft-Ray on each piece of glass.
Most AC cars had Soft-Ray - ALL.

Could also just get Soft-Ray on the Windshield ONLY.

455 HO should also have a 12bolt Rear
In your case it would have been a 3.07 single-trac [non-posi]

70 GTO would also have boxed lower control arms on the rear , with a rear sway bar.
