Default New Season New Best ET and MPH Finally

Best ET last year was 12.41 @ 108.59 and 12.45 @ 108.93 in about 50 degree weather mid November.

Link to last years post

http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=795187

Changes since last year
New 275 ET/SS tires, New drag 90/10 shocks and 1 inch lowering springs. Refreshed QJET from Cliff.

This year one 12.46 @ 108.95 right off the trailer early July, the best after that 12.58 @ 107.10 in Norwalk

Yesterday after taking 2nd in the street class where I had my best 60 ft ever at 1.686

Link to that :

http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=806531

I took a few more passes .

Took the Air Cleaner off , bogged terrible then recovered and ran a 12.361 @ 110.33
Put the Air cleaner back on and ran a 12.369 @ 109.91 followed by a 12.397 @ 109.32

Changes made since Norwalk were Exhaust upgrade from 2 1/2 to 3 inch from the manifolds to the tail pipes and swapped out the front tires 255/60's for some 205/75's

Can't wait for the Fall Cool air to see what it will run.

It's running good! I think it was your second to last pass i saw where it stumbled just after launch.
FWIW when we ran Q-JETs we found they liked having an air cleaner base on, if we ran with nothing it stumbled and just did run quite right. At least that was our experience.

The PMD engineers were some of the best in Detroit in designing air cleaners that "worked". They were known for have nice induction, intakes manifolds, ex manifolds ect. The iron Q Jet intake is based on a early 60s SD unit.

It had been a few years since I tried , won't do it again.

Was shocked when I got the Time slip and it was my fastest ET . MPH ever

So it recovered nicely.

Finally got out to the track last night for the first time in 2018. it was 53 degrees at the track.

Only upgrade was to replace the RobbMc 550 pump with a 1100 Pump and added a regulator.

First pass off the trailer was a 12.368 @109.78 - basically the same as last fall.

2nd pass was 12.258 @ 110.33

3rd pass 12.337 @ 109.74 - shredded the alternator belt

The rest of the passes were :

12.368 @ 110.19
12.364 @ 110.33
12.342 @ 109.99
12.313 @ 110.06

So two new Bests last night

A few time slips attached and what my Drag Radials looked like when I got to the Track. Just picked up some weld wheels to lighten up the car , just need to get some tires for them for the next trip to the track .

Congrats on the new times!

I'd say you have a lot left in the car, ET wise.
Probably with some good slicks would be a lot quicker.

What is the stall on the converter?

congrats on the new bests.
Have you tried off-idle launch as better than holding at 2000 rpm?
