Make sure the timing cover has the proper dimple! As I said the X over on the intake was on the intake when I got it.It was just welded in the wrong place for the donut to line up with the timing cover.Tom

Yes, I do have the correct timing cover. So what did you wind up doing to address the incorrect position of the crossover?

Are you thinking of putting a set of V heads on a 301 block? If so maybe but WAY better to just do a sheetmetal IMO.Jim Robertson made me one for my 303 short deck motor.Tom

Whats that intake worth as a Ford Tunnel Port intake ?
It might be worth enough to pay for a chunk of a sheet metal one. How rare is it ? |

Since the Pontiac intakes are made of Unobtainium, and is one of the rarest metals on the planet, you might as well make your own. |

Thanks, but I have made the commitment to the project already.
I purchased the tri-power intake to acquire the water crossover. Piece by piece, the project is gaining momentum. Next week will be the nick knack box of parts to be shipped. http://www.ebay.com/itm/330778509657...84.m1436.l2648 |

Mike are you going to attach the water crossover or leave it separate?

Hey Don -
It will be attached and be one piece. Why do you ask? |

Well I believe you stated earlier that you may be or are going to look into re popping them. If you indeed do that (which I would like to see you do). I think that if you make it separate that it will be able to work with my heads. That being said, the water cross over passage on my heads is still in the stock location. I would love to see you make the dual quad intake and then I could concentrate on a single 4 intake. That way all bases are covered except maybe a blower intake.

OH -
I understand. Well, I'm not sure how you are going to address the differences between a stock head height and the taller configuration of your heads. Intake spacers? So, I'm not sure if there were be an advantage, disadvantage or moot if I leave the crossover on or off. thoughts? |

I may have to send the intake builder my NOS single 4 barrel intake for better reference. Not sure yet. |

Spacers will definitely be needed and pose no problem what so ever. As a matter of fact may even help by making the intake runner longer which will make more torque. I really don't see any real issue making it one piece or with a separate cross over now that I think about it. I suppose it is easy enough to cut off if they do decide to purchase it for my heads.

This is a neat thread. Given the price of 859 intakes, when/if one can be found, a person could fabricate that intake for less money I think.
The medium and high riser Fords are being reproduced for less than $1000. http://www.dscmotorsport.com/asp/pro...=152&GroupID=4 |
