My photobucket account seems whacked today, but as soon as it gets corrected I'll post up what I have.

Default 65 post coupe

Here are pix of my 65 post I'm working on. The first few are before I pulled the drive train that came with the car. The next few are the pix of the firewall, mostly bare.

I'll be doing a resto/mod leaning more toward resto. I am thinking of starting a separate thread for information purposes and helpful hints and opinions from others. I just don't know if that would go over well with everyone in this section. Or if anyone would really be interested. I was also thinking, since I haven't posted much in this section, y'all could get to know me a little better.

This car was restored 26 years ago by White's Pontiac in Missouri. It was the son's first restoration/repair of a car his Dad wanted to keep as a driver. I do believe the firewall is in mostly original condition, except for the blue over spray of course.

I thought it was interesting to see the thumb prints of the dude who put the sealer on the vin tag! Think that was from the factory?

Are the 23727 vin markings something that's been seen before?

enjoy!
Ron M.

I'll have to upload and post some of my 65's.. Vintage air used my car 2 summers ago for the 65 Kits to test fit and mock up... Blows very cold and heater, ac and defrost all work again and uses factory ac controls in dash.. Did loose 95% of glove box but no biggie...

found some ... if you want to see any particular area let me know...

Could be. Mine's got hand prints in the paint on the hood, from the factory.

Yes - 23727 is the body style - 2 door Sport Coupe ("Post"). It does not have anything to do with the VIN.

Sorry Keith, I called it the vin plate when I think it's called the data plate? My bad....still learning the terminology!

Yes - or also called the cowl tag.

The VIN tag is in the door jam.

But - it's an honest mistake, since many people think the numbers should be the same between the body numbers on the cowl tag and the sequence portion of the VIN tag (but they are not).

Good question. I've never removed it, but from what I can see it looks like "OK"...

Sidebar: I never noticed the "A" on my firewall until I started looking at these pictures. A = Starlight black.
