Mine has 2 dates on the PHS, 7/26/74 and 7/31/74. I'm assuming the first is the build date and the second, its shipping date. The blue 74 auto that recently sold on ebay is the last one listed in the SD455 Registry, with a build date of sometime in Aug, 74. Not saying that this is the last one built, just the last one listed in the Registry.

How Long Have You Owned Yours ?
I bought my 1973 SD TA red 4 speed in 77 and my green auto in 1980 . The red one came from my area (Buffalo). Has anybody on the board had one longer ? My red one has been repainted but everything else untouched and the green auto is Original paint and tires .Don't have either one on the road this year , I flip flop back and forth with the judge and my 69 bird and this year I'm driving the Judge conv. but The SD is the most fun and always been my favorite .The 4 speed is killer .

I have a 1956 Corvette that I bought and sold in 1970 and got it back in 1973. I went for a 85 mile drive on Sunday in the Corvette and this the most fun car I have.

New HPP features a "pure stock" '74SD in the "pavement pounders" series. Nice running car, auto trans, utilizing custom ground cam and 3.90 gears.

Please help me find a super duty owner
Hello, I'm making my first post here and I look forward to future use of your forum. I just came across the forum and I am hoping since the super duty comminity is not too large that someone here could help me locate a super duty owner from the past. In 1981 I bought a super duty trans am from a person in the eastern part of nebraska. I don't remember if it was lincoln or omaha but it was one of the larger cities. The guy had a collection of cars, some super duties, some gto judges and some z28s. It's probably a longshot but I thought he might still be into super duties and someone here might know him and know how to get in touch with him. Thanks for any help you can offer for me.

If you still have the SD or at least the VIN, you could try contacting the Nebraska DMV. If you are lucky, they may still have records of previous owners. I have traced ownership on all of my cars & in one case was able to trace ownership through three states and fifteen owners, back to the new car dealer, and even got a copy of the "manufactures statement of origin". Unfortunately, some states purge there records which leads to a dead end, as is the case for me with my 69 GTO convertible. Several years ago I started a thread (3011818) with a full description of the GTO hoping that someone would know who owned the car between its sale at Royal Pontiac in May 1969 and where the trail picks up in early 1972. Luckily, when I bought my SD it came with a PHS and letters from previous owners. Good Luck with your search!
