AC vents
While the car is down I am looking at things I can do to improve its aesthetic and function. Has anyone ever added the two factory side AC vents to the dash?

It wouldn't be that difficult to do - just gotta cut holes of the appropriate size and buy the vents.

I intend to add A/C to my '64 at some point. I would also like to add the factory side vents. The parts are available reproduction. The tough part would be cutting the odd shaped hole in the dash. I think there may be templates for it.

I used Vintage Air vents. Just cut the dash with a hole saw. Masked it off well. Drilled a pilot hole. The dash is curved a little. I used some black 3m caulk to hold the bottom of the bezel out. Not real noticeable once everything is tightened up.

I've seen it done. You can cut the vent holes with a small cut-off wheel or a small saw. Measure twice, though. You need to make a template to use, I would get one from an original AC car if not readily available. The factory vents are very effective and look good, as well.
