Anodized/ Stainless Trim ?
What is the best way to remove the anodizing from a piece of aluminum trim? Also, is stainless steel trim coated with anything?

Best way to remove annodizing?
Not sure this is the best way, but a friend of mine used Drano mixed with water to remove the clear annodizing from a set of '60s or '70s Porsche 5-spoke alloy wheels. He did this so he could get them down to the bare aluminum, he wanted to polish them. The wheels looked great after he was done polising them, they were the hot wheel to put on VWs. Nasty fumes and of course caustic, he used rubber gloves. Stainless steel will just be polished with no coating.
