HF steel wheel date code question
A local friend of mine has these wheels that he took off of an all original 71 GTO when he put rallys on it. He has since sold the car and has the wheels for sale.
The wheels have date stamps that are different than any I have seen before. They also have a 5 digit number (21080) stamped on them and a couple of codes stamped near the lug area that I have never seen. Any help identifying them would be appreciated.

This is what I have for the HF - 1971 STANDARD 14 x 6 3987808
Not sure what the 21080 is unless it was a service replacement wheel with its own number? (the 3987808 is the part number shown for the HF) The date not sure, possibly Aug 70? What does it say to the left of the fill plug- 11P or UP? 710 or 71D for the first set of numbers? (or OIL upside down )

I'd say the date is probably Aug (11?) of 1970. The T1 is probably the manufacturer.

Scott, Believe I have a similar style dated & coded (with the T) 14" wheel. Will be out in the wheel stacks this weekend & see what it is
GM used several different steel wheel manufacturers in the '60's & 70's, including Kelsey-Hayes which made many of Chevy's steel wheels, unfortunately, thus is not a K-H supplied wheel. The typical Pontiac usage date coded steel wheels that most of us have was made by MotorWheel. MotorWheel also manufactured most of the OEM Rally II's. One will typically see the M above the year date code on MotorWheel mfg wheels. Have a feeling the wheels that date code begin with a T, like on your above pics, were made by Norris Technologys. Tough to find date decoding info on these.

Not that I can remember, but on the wheels I'm thinking of, I was fixated on the T & string of numbers, wondering how to decode. Have had nearly two dozen '71 Fremont built Pontiac A-bodys as partscars & projects, will see what have in the stacks & on current partscars.
