Default 64 GTO Post 4bbl 4spd on Craigslist in Maryland

Early 12A car with double alternator belt arrangement. 77k miles
Nocturne Blue with Blue Interior
Neat car and possibly has Tachometer
Seems a bit overly-ambitious on asking pricing.

Looks like something really strange going on with top of driver side quarter panel.
Appears that quarter has been replaced by signs in the trunk jamb at the rear body lap joint.
May be some kind of issue at driver door/quarter area too.
If not for those things - the price would be more in tune.

Its still seems to be a pretty honest and mostly unmolested GTO and nice to see them when they pop out of the wood work.

Hey BVZ, how ya been?

As I get older I really dig these survivor type cars. Would be awesome to go through it mechanically and just drive it, not worrying about paint and all the rest. Correct the little things that won't cost big $$. I'd like to find a '66 such as this. I see what you mean there on the quarter panel, wonder what it looks like standing there in person.

Looking at it a little more (qtr panel) maybe someone put aircraft stripper on it and was going to start doing some paint/bodywork on it - and Stopped. idunno
It looks awful whatever it is . lol

A really clean (but dirty) 64 Marimba Red Metallic Hardtop "survivor" original NC car with factory paint and 71-72 NC inspection sticker listed on eBay about a month ago.
4 spd , Wood Wheel , Black Interior , Mag Hubcaps
No Engine - No Hood - No Title
It was ended and Sold - off eBay

Think it was an impounded storage type deal (aka hostile take-over)
and it was in Maryland too

I had a 64 GTO Hdtp Marimba/Black Interior 78XW 3.23 Posi fixxer-upper in later 80's
If it had been as good shape as that one - i would still have it today.
That is my favorite 64 GTO color.

Why would someone mount the manual drivers door mirror on the front fender (like the remote mirrors were mounted)?

Looks over functionality? Back in 64 a fender mounted mirror was supposedly considered a cool "European" look by some. Just looks out of place on the big fat American GTO. There are factory photos of the mirror mounted there so maybe the factory or dealerships thought this was where it was to be mounted, at least at some point in time.
