FN405G Battery Cable Heat Shield ??
Building a '69 Firebird, ordered one of these from AMES. There's a 455 in my Bird, and I've tried every single option for bolting this heat shield on, without success. Is there another option? Thanks.

Standard log or Ram air manifolds? Appears to be an A body shield? File pic from GTO forum.

Standard log manifolds. There's nowhere to bolt this that makes any sense.

the battery cable was routed differently on ones equipped with RA manifolds vs standard log manifolds;
the head bolt needs to have a stud, and if the engine was rebuilt, it's possible that the wrong fastener was installed there - that might be why you cannot find a way to attach/route things. I would not use one of those tubes with the RA manifolds - because it would press right against the manifold (but have a small gap for standard manifolds); if the tube is resting aginst a manifold it will be a small heat sink for that battery cable.

The pic I attached shows how it would have mounted. If the heads have been off and a Studded head bolt not in place you will have no place to mount as original.

Yep, that makes sense, as I installed the heads with new ARP head bolts. I'll figure out another option. Thank you. H.
