Default Freaking snowballing projects

Well pulled the 81 car out , charged the battery fresh gas so my daughter could drive it while in for Turkey Day,it was her high school car.Had a vibrtation liek falt spotted tires or maybe the 20 year old shocks were gone so ordered new schocks. Got it inspected but on the way home someone pulled out in front and I had to hit the brakes hard. Took a hard left turn locking up one rear wheel. So figuire the ratchet caliper was stuck might be lucky enough to just adjust it, or just a collapsed brake line.-Nope needed a new caliper-luckily I bought lifetime warranty a Hi Lo in the late 80s! My 5th new caliper for both cars. So miked the rotor since I was there-too thin so new rotors. So front brake probably need replacing too.

Pulled off the caliper yesterday and saw previous owner spliced a compression fitting in the line-luckily have an extra line laying around. So this car was a daily driver and rear looks grungy-so do I pull it ans clean and paint it since lines and calipers will be off, than why not freshen the bearings right! And while the rear is out scrub and paint the rear undercarriage right? And maybe go ahead and get new spring as the rubber shcakle bushings are starting to crack.

It never ends!

Paul if it gets a 455 inplace of the old stock ish 400(which still runs like a top) it will use some of those valve springs you cryo'd for me! Why I might freshen the 96K mile rear end if it gets a little more hit with more TQ.

Oh forgot to mention lining up all the spoilers better than the body shop did when it was repainted after getting a door skin 7 years ago-not even my daughter's fault-she was at her grandparents and the neighbors backed into it.

I guess I'm too anal about things being just right!

Ugh, I hear you. But,,, thats how you make a car nice instead of grungy. It's not like your throwing Detroit Speed parts at it. I'd do at least part of that list if I were you.

Deal is all of these things required attention, just now your priorities changed, and you decided to address the issues as you found them on the car.

Keep up the good work, Skip.

Yea then we pull the rear apart and the posi needs new clutches-now discontinued-so need a new posi, then rear gears set up. And I haven't even gotten to the front brakes yet!

I really wanted this to be a quick deal to get back on the Camaro/IA since I just got the cage put in it! Just money and time right

Put some gas (or berryman's) in it (again), while working on the 81,to make sure the tank's good to go...

Skip congratulations on being an hourly shop father. Flat rate dad would have charged the old battery, put in a paper floor mat and sent it on its way.
