Has anyone seen the prices of these intake manifolds?

"Speedmaster".

Pretty much says it all: Chinese junk from a company infamous for Chinese junk. No fookin' way, not at any price.

Huh. I wish some one would have told me that. I thought that since my ProComp intake fit perfectly, was finished very nicely requiring only a gasket match and my 455 ran better than with the prior HSD, it was a nice intake. Just shows how little I know.

Well, he good news is that are one piece of solid aluminum that can not blow your engine to bits from poor manufacturing.

Seriously though, they are decent intakes. My 9-1 455 runs 11 flat with one. Mine was worked on a bit by SD Dave. really nice intake for ported iron heads IMO.

A bit strange that the version machined for injectors is priced so much lower.
Maybe overstock or is being discontinued.

And for the haters, these are the old "Procomp" brand, which I hear is even more hated than "Speed master".

This posted on another site....

Speed Master ,"a global company", is headquartered in Australia with some R&D and production facilities there but production of a lot of their products is outsourced to other countries.

Almost all of the cast aluminum intakes out there (aside from the Holley and Edelbrock stuff) has been produced for many years in "Other Countries" China being the big one.
Ford of Australia did have casting capabilities for many years in Australia, prior to getting out of that production market.

Edelbrock was far bigger in the aluminum casting business than many would realize and produced castings for over 70 years in the USA.

Yeah, the brackets too, they make a rail/hardware kit, but looks like some are not in stock at the moment.

Injector spacing is specific to the engine families. You can have them made, but that can become cost prohibitive.

Wonder if the Edelbrock rails would work?

Maybe if you make your own stands, but it can be a challenge. The injector spacing is correct though.

Since the question about Fuel Rail mounting hardware was raised in a post, here are the dimensions for the "RAIL RETENTION BRACKETS: (SHORT & TALL)

These dimensions are taken from Victor and Super Victor Intake mounting hardware.

Tall Mounting Bracket (STEEL) STRAP: .090" MATERIAL THICKNESS
TALL BRACKET HEIGHT (STANDING ON END ON A FLAT SURFACE: 2.780"
OUTSIDE WIDTH OF THE "U-MOUNTING BRACKET (BOLT END): .750"
OUTSIDE WIDTH OF THE "U-MOUNTING BRACKET (RAIL END): .870"
MOUNTING BOLT HOLE: .290" DIAMETER
MOUNTING BOLT HOLE (FUEL RAIL BOLT): .280" DIAMETER

SHORT Mounting Bracket (STEEL) STRAP: .090" MATERIAL THICKNESS
SHORT BRACKET HEIGHT (STANDING ON END ON A FLAT SURFACE: 1.600"
OUTSIDE WIDTH OF THE "U-MOUNTING BRACKET (BOLT END): .930"
OUTSIDE WIDTH OF THE "U-MOUNTING BRACKET (RAIL END): .930"
MOUNTING BOLT HOLE: .280" DIAMETER
MOUNTING BOLT HOLE (FUEL RAIL BOLT): .280" DIAMETER

Have fun trying to make these things. It is not going to be a easy process
as you need 4 brackets, for a manifold, minimum.

Edelbrock has 2 different brackets and maybe rails too, depending on the type of injectors you use.

The rails for the SpeedMaster are here:

https://www.speedmaster79.com/Pontia...ector-Rail-Kit

There's two different ones, not sure which kit is for which intake, would have to check. But the brackets for the one appears to be simple 'L' type. Might be able to fab something for the Edelbrock ones. You would need to mock it up, the pad on the intake is the determining factor I believe.
